I know the guys I ride with off-road like to have a small beverage after a dry, dusty day in the desert so when I discovered a smartphone app called Locotext, I figured this might be something they would be interested in. What it does is automatically send a text message whenever your phone's gps indicates you have reached a pre-determined location.

As an example, you could choose the back gate to the park as the point where you send a message to the wife such as "have cold beer ready, will be home in five minutes" or "make sure dinner is on the table, I don't want to eat left-overs again". In which case this app could be used to send a message to 911 requesting Emergency Management Services when you arrive home.
