Lake Almanor
After taking the morning to rest and pay some bills, I took a leisurely drive this afternoon around Lake Almanor, a pristine lake surrounded by old growth evergreen trees...

First pelican I have ever seen on a fresh water lake
When I was in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, we used to spend a month in a rented cabin on the north side of Lake Almanor...some of my fondest memories as a child. It's gotten very built up and lacks the charm it used to have. Chester is still a cute town and the campground on the south side near the dam is great. Thanks for sharing and bringing back memories.
I can understand why you have pleasant memories of the time you spent at Lake Almanor. It is a beautiful area. There are some nice homes (think expensive) on the west side of the lake now.
