More Cold/Wet Weather
One of the reasons for spending the winter in southern Arizona has traditionally been the warm/dry climate, but not this year as we are having the worst weather I have experienced in the 11 years I have been coming here. If this had been my first winter, I am not sure I would have returned.

Raquel Welch
Raquel Welch has passed away at age 82. She was the quintessential sex symbol in my younger days. The poster of her in a fur bikini from the movie "One Million Years BC" was almost a prerequisite for most college dorm rooms. Here's a photo taken in 1966 at UNC, Chapel Hill...

Polaris RZR Trails & Rocks
I just purchased a 2019 Polaris Trails & Rocks from a friend here in the park. I had been thinking of buying another side-by-side for a while, but could not justify the price for a new one. Finding a used, well maintained machine made the decision much easier.
The Trails & Rocks model was made for rock crawling and comes with a lot of options that are add-ons for most Polaris vehicles including a winch, rock sliders, skid plate, gps, etc. Plus, the original owner put a lot of extras on it as well. With the Jeep and RZR I have the best of both OHV worlds. All I need now is some warm, dry weather to go off-road again.

Winter Flowers
It has been unseasonably cool and wet this winter in southern Arizona. The good news is the desert is green, the saguaros are plump and the wildflowers are in bloom...

Scary Numbers
Here are our country's national debt numbers as of this morning...
I suspect most people do not think much about our country's national debt or its effect on our economy. To give the $31+ trillion debt some perspective, consider that is over $246,000 per taxpayer and the interest alone is around $520 billion a year at current interest rates. That is money that could be used to solve a lot of our country's problems. Click here to see the most recent numbers.

Congressional Malfeasance
Congress (controlled by Democrats) just released a 4,155-page, $1.7 trillion spending package that has to be passed by midnight this Friday in order to prevent a partial government shutdown going into the Christmas holiday. Of course, no one in Congress is going to read the complete bill before the deadline, so they will vote on a bill without really knowing what's in it. I believe politicians do this on purpose so they can include as many pork barrel, special interest projects as possible. One of the problems with this process is the amount of government waste it generates. For an example, here is a recent article from the New York Post listing some of the most outrageous expenditures.
If you would like to see a much more comprehensive list of government waste, I would recommend Senator Rand Paul’s 2021 Waste Report where he highlights a whopping $52,598,515,585 of waste, including a study
of pigeons gambling on slot machines, giving kids junk food, and telling citizens of Vietnam
not to burn their trash. No matter how much money has already been wasted, politicians keep
demanding even more.

Gold Canyon Dentistry
I recently had a dental bridge done by Gold Canyon Dentistry. I chose them for their "state of the art" equipment...

In all seriousness, Dr. Pamela McMahon did an outstanding job. It was much easier and less painful than I had feared and in as much as they make the crowns there in the office, I was able to have everything done in about 4 hours.
